Session Description | One of the aims of hydrology is to establish transferable hydrological prediction methods accross scales and regions to realize hydrologic predictions in ungauged basins. In this session, we wish to discuss the progress of hydrologic prediction methods through the estimation/reduction of prediction uncertainty. The session topics include: model evaluation and improvement in ungauged basins through prediction uncertainty assessments; frequency analysis of hydrologic extremes in ungauged basins with scaling, regionalization, and historical record analysis; relating hydrologic diversity to landscape elements to establish inovative hydrologic models for ungauged basins; global-scale hydrological modeling considering interaction between natural variation and anthropogenic activities; downscaling of global hydrologic information for local scale watershed managements in ungauged basins; remotely sensed hydrologic measurements for ungauged basins. |
