Session Title Urban Flood Hydrology

Session Description There has been significant damage from floods and flash floods in the world. Among this damage, urban floods are more serious due to the characteristics of urban area such as high population, industrial site, and high impervious area. For the protection and reduction from this damage, it is necessary to develop a versatile structural and non-structural measures for the flood prone areas. The aims of this session is to share the basic idea and knowledge for solving various urban flood disaster prediction and prevention problems, especially focused on 1) urban rainfall analysis and forecast, 2) urban hydrology data collection and analysis, 3) urban drainage system design and analysis, 4) urban flood modeling and analysis techniques, 5) urban hydraulic structures modeling and design, 6) urban water quality control and management, and 7) urban flood protection and management.
