Session Description | Development of space geodetic technologies such as GPS and InSAR enabled detection and monitoring of various kind of crustal deformations including coseismic deformation, global plate motion, secular deformation around the active faults, the detection of small aseismic deformation signals. Among them, aseismic deformation such as postseismic deformation and silent earthquakes are important in understanding physics of earthquakes, rheology of the Earth's crust and mantle, frictional properties of source faults, slip budget and other various aspects at plate boundaries. We welcome papers discussing observation, interpretation and modeling of strain accumulation and release process using space geodetic techniques. |
