| Session Description | Modern and recent adakites, high-Mg andesites (HMA), and boninites appear in forearcs, ridge subduction loci, and ‘proto-arc’ ophiolite sequences. We invite contributions reporting geochemical, experimental, or structural studies of these magma types with the aim of reconciling effects of slab melting, lower crustal melting, polybaric melt fractionation, and mantle wedge flow fields. |
