Co-convener(s) | Dr. Huai Zhang (Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China) Dr. John B. Rundle (UC Davis, United States) |
Session Description | With the vast increase of the bandwidth in networking and the development of new software for creating source codes for massively parallel computers , there is now a change in the way computing is being carried out in the geosciences. This session aims to draw all active participants in computing and visualization around the Pacific rim.Contributions are solicited in (but not restricted to) the following areas:Large scale (parallel) computer simulations or model construction and software development in the related fields of geosciences; Novel algorithms for modern distributed/ 4D / volume visualizations; Data integration technologices with grid computing architecture and corresponding software techniques; Modeling and implementation of data similation or data mining aspects. |
