Session Title Observation, theory and modeling of ULF waves in relation with substorms and storms
Main Convener Prof. Dae-Young Lee (Chungbuk National University, Korea, South)
Co-convener(s) Dr. Khan-Hyuk Kim (Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, Korea, South)
Dr. Masahito Nose (Data Analysis Center for Geomagnetism and Space Ma, Japan)
Session Description The dynamics of storms and substorms are often closely linked to ULF waves. Changes of field and plasma caused by substorms are related to ULF waves of several kinds. ULF waves are thought as one of the crucial ways of creating relativistic electrons during storm times. The objective of this session is to provide a forum for the observational and theoretical research results on ULF waves, and to stimulate new research on the relationship between ULF waves and substorms/storms. The organizers of this session encourage submission of papers on topics of pulsations, substorms, storms themselves and the possible relations between them.
