Session Title | Magnetospheric dynamics towards multi-satellite observation era |
Main Convener | Dr. Iku Shinohara (ISAS/JAXA, Japan) |
Co-convener(s) | Dr. Andris Vaivads (Swedish Institute of Space Physics, Sweden) Dr. Akimasa Ieda (Nagoya University, Japan) Dr. Shue Jih-Hong (Institute of Space Science, National Central University, Taiwan) |
Session Description | Following ISTP and Cluster-II missions, more multi-satellite missions including the THEMIS mission are going to contribute to the understanding of the magnetosphere. It is thus timely to summarize establishments and limitations in current studies and to discuss future satellite missions. This session will emphasize coordinated or multipoint investigations, ground-based observations, numerical simulations and theories on magnetospheric dynamics. Any topics on the magnetospheric dynamics in global scale, ion-kinetic scale, and micro-scale are welcome. |
