Co-convener(s) | Dr. Kazunari Shibata (Kyoto University, Japan) Dr. Jingxiu Wang (NAOC, China) Mr. Alexei Pevtsov (NASA, Afghanistan) Dr. Bernhard Kliem (Astrophysical Institute Potsdam, Germany) |
Session Description | Three-dimensional (3D) structure and dynamics may play a crucial role in the various activities of the Sun. Dynamo, the formation of magnetic helicity, the onset of solar flares and coronal mass ejections, all they are 3D processes. The modern satellite observatories "HINODE" and "STEREO" are now providing vital information of the 3D processes. Also the sophisticated numerical modeling is being developed to understand the 3D activity. This session is proposed as a forum to exchange the results of the recent solar physics studies including “HINODE” and “STEREO” observations. Any 3D phenomena in the Sun are encompassed in the scope of this session, and both the observational and theoretical studies are welcomed. |
