Session Title Artificial groundwater recharge: Hydrogeologic characterization, implementation, and management
Main Convener Prof. Se-Yeong Hamm (Pusan National University, Korea, South)
Co-convener(s)
Session Description Artificial recharge is to make surface water from streams and lakes to infiltrate the ground. Artificial groundwater recharge improves the quality of water recovered, thus is a useful mean for supplying drinking water. It is also applicable to maintain groundwater level in the region where the groundwater level is in risk of great decline. Furthermore, artificial recharge can be practiced to prevent land subsidence. However, hydrogeologic characteristics must be discerned clearly. For successively implementing artificial recharge. Management of artificial recharge is also important to properly control water balance and groundwater pumping from aquifers.
Hence, any professionals and engineers are welcome who want to discuss floriferous subjects on artificial recharge such as theories, experiments, and field studies.
