Session Description | Asian monsoon is one of the most influential phenomena of the earth's climate system. There is an increasing need to predict the intraseasonal, seasonal, and interannual aspects of monsoon precipitation under the global warming. The goals of the session are to understand variabilities of Asian monsoon at various time-scales and their linkages with regional and global climate, and to investigate impacts of ocean-land-atmosphere interaction on the evolution of Asian monsoon system. This session includes following subjects: - Dynamics of Asian monsoon - Intraseasonal, interannual and interdecadal variabilities for Asian monsoon - Hydrological processes in Asian monsoon system - Understanding of atmosphere-ocean-land interaction in Asian monsoon - Predictability of Asian monsoon - Interaction between Asian monsoon and ENSO - Intraseasonal oscillation(ISO) of convective activity in the Asian monsoon region - Monsoon modelling |
