Section AS - Atmospheric Sciences
Session Title Ground- and Space-based GPS Meteorology
Main Convener Prof. Gyu-Ho Lim (Seoul National University, Korea, South)
Co-convener(s)
Session Description Since the emergence of a new technique for sensing of the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere with GPS, we have witnessed significant progress in the science and technology of both ground- and space-based atmospheric remote sensing, especially for atmospheric science field. Numerous meteorological studies using GPS data have been conducted and show encouraging results in various field of meteorology, especially for improving moisture fields of global and regional numerical weather prediction, including validating satellite and reanalysis data, and monitoring climate change.
In this section we would like to bring together researchers from a variety of backgrounds to present works related to the use of ground- and space- based GPS data in the atmospheric science field. We will also explore the current issue and future direction of improvement of ground- and space-based GPS data analysis and it’s application for meteorology. We encourage submissions that present results from scientific investigations using GPS data on the various fields of meteorology. We look forward to your contribution on this topic.
