Session Description | Recent investigations using the in-situ dating technique such as the SHRIMP ion microprobe have greatly enhanced our understanding of Asian geology and tectonics. In this session, we invite presentations on the geochronologic or geochemical work dealing with accessory minerals such as zircon, monazite, xenotime, etc. We especially encourage contributions on the geologic correlation among China, Japan and Korea, based on precise geochronologic data. We also invite any work concerned with the reaction and timing responsible for the growth or dissolution of accessory minerals. This session celebrates the introduction of a new SHRIMP in Korea to be installed in 2008. The papers presented in this special session are invited for the publication in a Special Issue of Geosciences Journal, whose on-line version is distributed by Springer from 2008. The deadline for the submission of manuscript will be August 1st, 2008. Further details will be announced in due course. |
