| Session Description | Contributions are invited from observational and modelling studies of tropical and extra-tropical interactions and their role in climate variability. We particularly, welcome contributions focusing on the dynamics of teleconnections between the Asian monsoon region and the mid-latitude general circulation; and the role of these interactions in affecting the monsoon climate. We strongly encourage contributions addressing the importance of monsoon and mid-latitude interactions in affecting monsoon variability on a range of time-scales, viz., intra-seasonal, interannual, interdecadal, etc. We also welcome studies on monsoon and midlatitude interactions in the context of paleoclimatic investigations and monsoon climate change. |
