Session Title | Integrated Regional Environmental Assessment System |
Main Convener | Prof. Julius Chang (National Central University, Taiwan) |
Co-convener(s) | Prof. Yuanhang Zhang (Peking University, China) |
Session Description | In assessing regional environmental issues one must consider large number of related physical and chemical phenomena. In doing so one must be familiar with needs and methods for considering and eventually integrating all processes of importance. Depending on specific problem under study integration of man-made and natural source emissions, meteorology, terrain, chemistry, aerosol, even modeling technique can be at different depth. With the recent development of so called direct coupled regional atmospheric chemistry and meteorology models such as WRF/chem it is even more critical to understand how integration of individual submodels happen and what are the requirements for proper integration. The proposed sessions will focus on the operational integration technique and how such integration improves regional environment assessment studies. |
