Session Description In space plasmas, such as the solar corona, the solar wind and the magnetosphere, a number of complex phenomena take place, such as nonlinear waves, particle acceleration, turbulence, and dissipative processes. These processes, involving the plasma flow and the magnetic field, occur on a wide range of scales, and include cross-scale effects. This session will focus on turbulent energy transport, energy dissipation mechanisms, compressibility effects, heating of the solar corona and the solar wind, the nature and origin of coherent structures, nonlinear wave-particle interactions, shocks, and particle acceleration. We invite contributions on recent observational, theoretical and numerical results on these and other nonlinear processes occurring in the space plasma environment.
