| Session Description |
The coupling between vegetation dynamics and hydrological processes governs vegetation pattern, water and nutrient cycles in many settings. However, the interactions between them remain poorly understood. The proposed session examines plant-water interactions at all spatial and temporal scales, and invites contributions from hydrological, ecological and biogeochemical communities. Topics of interest include, but not limited to, hydrological and vegetation feedbacks in wetlands, coupling responses to natural and anthropogenic disturbances, hydrologic controls on ecosystem functions. Investigations with implications for resource management, biodiversity conservation, and water quality protection are particularly encouraged. Studies employing field observations, experimental approaches and numerical modeling are all welcome. |
