Session Description When we say space education, it has two meanings (a) to use space material in order to trigger the curiosity of the young children and (b) to introduce the young generation the importance of space developments/activities. However, space education, like any other type of education, needs continuous time/and energy consuming efforts. Further the contribution of the governments of the countries is essential for the sustenance of this long term project. An important aspect, for its effective absorption by the students, is that the education should be imparted systematically.

Space education activities of this session shall be targeted for elementary school to high school level students, for which, in most of the countries, no systematic space education is generally imparted and even school teachers need support, advice, and sometimes, financial support to pursue space education activities. We need not make efforts for University students because Universities can work by themselves.

The session aims to work towards the same goal by collaborating among Asian-Oceanic countries. The collaboration includes exchange of the information on the space education which covers wide area of activities, to organize international meetings and or events, if necessary.

The session welcomes the presentations related to hands–on activities in a short- as well as long-term strategies for space education. One of the final goals of the session might be to create a group which can actively work for the space education by collaborating with existing governmental organizations.
