| Session Description |
Many solar-terrestrial processes are governed by magnetic fields, which are generated inside the solar convection zone and then come out through the solar surface in the form of active regions. We need a good understanding of the magnetic fields in the solar convection zone and surface to follow up their subsequent effects. This session will cover such important topics as the solar dynamo, magnetoconvection, sunspots, photospheric flux tubes, magnetic buoyancy, heliciy of magnetic structures, observation of photospheric magnetic fields. Both theoretical and observational presentations will be included in the session. |
