Session Description Scope and Objectives of the Programme:
Water is essential for all forms of life and is a fundamental recourse for socio-economic development besides for maintaining healthy ecosystem. Due to modernization and industrialization demand of water is rapidly becoming a scarce resource and requires new and innovative methods for conservation and judicious use. By the year 2025 two third of world population will experience periods of water stress. Thus present situation warrants urgent attention and in future it may become a cause of conflict.
Groundwater is available almost everywhere and playing its important role to meet water supply required for Domestic, rural, industrial and agriculture use. These days extraction of groundwater is excessive and very soon it may listed under non-removable resources if properly steps are not taken at this juncture.
Thus there is an urgent need of sustainable development of groundwater which would ensure optimal utilization of available water as well as its quality. Now there is an urgent need to react and interact for the noble social cause and create awareness.
Keeping the above view in mind this workshop is being arrange so that it will create an action oriented awareness amongst teachers, students, consultants, government and non government organization and industry representatives, local peoples etc who built the society.
