Main Convener | Dr. Ashok Karumuri (Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, India) |
Co-convener(s) | Dr. BN Goswami (Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, India) Prof. Saji Hameed (University of Aizu, Japan) Dr. Scott Power (Bureau of Meteorology, Australia) Prof. Fredolin T. Tangang (National University of Malaysia (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia), Malaysia) Prof. Joong-Bae Ahn (Pusan National University, Korea, South) |
Session Description | The session calls for the modeling and observational papers which will address the recent and future climate change issues relevant to the Asian and Australian monsoon region. We invite presentations covering the state of art in the decadal and longer term climate projections of the monsoons, with forcings of either natural or anthropogenic in origin, and the associated challenges. Model projections of future changes in various components of regional monsoon climates, and studies on quantifying and addressing uncertainties due to the model errors as well as those due to the GHG and areosols, are particularly encouraged. Observational and modeling studies on recent and past climate change in monsoons are also welcome. |
