| Session Description |
A major space disturbance is geomagnetic storms that typically encompass multiple magnetospheric substorms during their course. Considerable research efforts are devoted to these two topics. New aspects of these phenomena are revealed with increasing sophistication of instrumentation, numerical modeling, and data analysis techniques. Furthermore, substorm-like phenomena are found in other planetary systems as well, providing opportunity for in-depth understanding of space plasma dynamics over different plasma regimes. This session solicits presentations aimed to advance comprehension and/or forecasting of these space disturbances. |
