Co-convener(s) Prof. Ross Mark (Univeristy of Southern Florida, United States)
Dr. Valli Manickam (Administrative Staff College of India, India)

Session Description Surface runoff contributing to streams of middle and higher order, wetlands, designated habitats, underlying ground water bodies all constitute what is being defined here as River System. The natural and anthropogenic factors contribute significantly to the changes in river systems affecting earth, environment and people. A study on Microclimatological impacts on River systems is of immediate relevance and significance for which modelling the river systems provides suuficient insight . It is of relevance because of the need for designing a framework for evaluating the impact of climate change on regional and subregional hydrological systems as well as
Climate change induced water stress,. The modeling of river systems could lead to synergization and integration of hydrogeomorphic and ecological concepts and issues.
