Session Title Laboratory Planetary Sciences
Main Convener Dr. David L. Huestis (SRI International, United States)
Co-convener(s) Dr. Murthy Gudipati (Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, United States)
Dr. Mao-Chang Liang (Academia Sinica, Taiwan)

Session Description The Laboratory Planetary Sciences Session is intended to bring together laboratory, atmospheric, planetary, astrophysics, and astrochemistry researchers (experimentalists, observers, theorists, and modelers), and other interested researchers. The research areas include, but are not limited to, all spectral ranges of laboratory investigations, particle and radiation interaction with all phases of matter, including ices and tholins, theoretical and laboratory cross sections and reaction rates, with emphasis on application to planetary, cometary, and astronomical observations.

The session serves as a professional forum to disseminate and advance scientific knowledge, further discuss emerging ideas and insights on astrophysics, astrochemistry, and astrobiology, as well as integration across various branches of science and technology. It is important to promote the dialogues among interdisciplinary researchers, especially in Asia, and hence to increase the collaboration and cross fertilization of ideas to ensure the continual growth of scientific understanding as well as the community.
