Session Description This session will cover the latest results on the ionosphere, atmosphere, surface and interior of Mars. With Mars Global Surveyor, Mars Express, Mars Odyssey, Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, MERs and Phoenix, we have been able to address these fields of research improving and modifying our understanding of Mars in great detail. The session is primarily targeted at presentations of new measurements and analyses, but authors presenting papers on theory and modeling in support of new results will be most welcome. The second objective of the session is to discuss upcoming future missions as well as ground based measurements. Broad solicited talks and contributed presentations will be highlighted in the program. Comparative studies of common features and processes in the atmosphere/ionosphere as well as on the surface/interior of Mars with those of Venus and Earth are also encouraged for presentation at the session.
