| Session Description | In this session the new applications of soft computing methods including neural networks, fuzzy logic, genetic algorithms and combination of these methods in Geosciences are investigated. Recent applications of soft computing methods have proved their capability, accuracy, adaption and flexibility in many fields of geosciences like estimation, prediction and optimization approaches. Some examples are prediction of lanslides,earthquakes,runn-off and complex geo-systems like eruption of volcanos;detection of buried objects, estimation of first arrival seismic waves, oil exploration, geophysical data interpretation ,borehole data interpretation,etc. Any paper that describes an application of soft computing methods in Geosciences is invited to be submitted for this session. |
