Section SE - Solid Earth Sciences
Session Title Exploring the Earth’s Interior from Atomic to Global Scale
Main Convener Prof. Eiji Ohtani (Tohoku University, Japan)
Co-convener(s) Dr. Jennifer Kung (National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan)
Dr. Xiang Wu (Peking University, China)
Dr. Baosheng Li (Stony Brook University, United States)
Session Description This session solicits papers to investigate the physics and chemistry of Earth’s interior from different approaches such as observational, experimental and computational studies, in order to extend our understanding about the current status and evolution of the planet Earth. Areas of interests include, but not limited to, mineralogy, petrology, geochemistry, seismology and geodynamics; such as the characterization of discontinuities and heterogeneities from Earth’s crust to the core, as well as efforts that integrate observations and computations to foster our understanding the evolution and activities of the Earth in large scale from the surface to the deep interior. Contributions from all of the above research areas are welcome.
