Session Description | Knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of Earth materials is the key to understand the evolution and dynamics of Earth. Multidisciplinary approaches in mineral physics, geochemistry, seismology and geodynamics will foster our understanding of the structure and processes of the Earth’s interior. This symposium intends to bring together experimental and theoretical approaches to the physics and chemistry of the Earth materials, geodynamic modeling and geophysical observation to improve our understanding of the current status and evolution of the planet Earth. We welcome the presentations in the areas of interests including, but not limited to, properties (elastic, rheology, transport) of Earth materials, characterization of discontinuities and heterogeneities from the mantle to the core, as well as efforts that integrate observations and modeling. This symposium is held in cooperation with TANDEM (The Asian Network in Deep Earth Mineralogy) established in 2008. |
