Session Description The mitigation of CO2 emission is becoming a big issue in Asia and Oceania countries, where anthropogenic CO2 emissions have increased rapidly in recent years. On this subject, the Carbon dioxide Capture and Storage (CCS) has a large potential to mitigate the carbon dioxide (CO2) emission to the atmosphere. The CCS is characterized as an interdisciplinary R&D project between the basic science (geology, geophysics and geochemistry) and the reservoir engineering (site selection, facilities design and potential evaluation). This session focuses on the latest R&D results of both ongoing and planned CCS projects at the Asia and Oceania regions. However, this session also include basic studies of geophysical monitoring, laboratory experiment, theoretical analysis and computer simulation.
