Session Description | Description: Tsunami damages such as 2004 Sumatra Earthquakes, 2010 Chile Earthquake and 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake are very severe problems. Especially, Asian coastal countries suffered from tsunamis around Indian Ocean and Western Pacific Ocean. Therefore, for tsunami disaster reductions, we organized tsunami working group in Sentinel Asia supporting by JAXA. Tsunami working group has the objectives of understanding for tsunami hazard, early warning, education and capacity building. These objectives are very important and significant for Asian countries In this session, we discuss about activities for tsunami disaster reduction in each country.
