| Session Description | One critical task of today's hydrological scientists is how to restore damaged ecological/hydraulic/hydrological function of natural river systems to stable, healthy, and sustainable states. Based on scientific principles, restoration strategies should be decided to recover ecohydrological functions. However, it is still challenging to have a comprehensive overview of the ecohydrological effects of the restoration measures and so on in decision making. This proposed session examines theory, practical application, and decision making in stream restoration management and monitoring. This session invites contributions from hydrologists, hydraulic engineers, geomorphologists, and ecologist among others. Interdisciplinary studies are particularly encouraged. Research studies employing field observations, theoretical works, experimental approaches, and numerical modeling are all welcome. |
