| Session Description | With potential significant changes in global climate and environment, occurrences of weather/climate extremes around the world are likely to be more frequent and of greater magnitude. These extremes would result in many related hazards, such as floods, droughts, and water-borne diseases. We welcome all contributions that deal with research on, and development of models for, hydrological explorations of weather/climate extremes. The session also addresses the technological aspects of modelling, social and commercial applications, hazard mitigation strategies, data issues, and data sources in regards to weather/climate extremes. |
