| Session Description |
This session covers all topics relating to the study of the Earth's magnetospheric system, from the inner magnetosphere out to the bow shock and foreshock, as well as magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling. The wide scope of the session encompasses contributions which do not fit more naturally into one of the other, more specialized, sessions. Topics for the session include the foreshock, bow shock, solar wind entry, magnetic reconnection, particle acceleration, magnetotail, plasma sheet, lobes, radiation belts, ring current, generation and propagation of waves, whistlers, chorus emissions, wave particle interactions, plasmaspheric density variations, dynamic cusp, electrodynamics at high latitudes, polar cap patches, dayside and nightside auroras, auroral arcs, geomagnetic storms and indices, etc. Contributions dealing with theory, modeling, and ground-based, rocket and satellite observations are solicited. |
