| Session Description | The Asia-Oceania region has the largest population with an increasing need for food production. Thus, there has been widespread Land-Use and Land-Cover Change. In addition, there is evidence of climate variability and change over the last century, e.g., warming and changes in precipitation pattern in the central Asia. These changes would alter biological and biogeochemical processes, with implications for the carbon cycle in the region. This session provides a forum for discussions of relevant research outcomes. Topics include, but are not limited to (1) major carbon pools, e.g., carbon storage in biosphere and pedosphere, (2) carbon fluxes among various pools, and (3) impacts of climate change and human activity on the carbon cycle in the Asia-Oceania region. We encourage submission of contributions using observational and modeling approaches. |
