| Session Description | Recent disasters in the Asia-Pacific region highlight the importance of scientific research on geohazard information and risk management. Researches on risk reduction of earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions will be discussed in this session. We welcome topics on (1) natural geohazards research activities, (2) information reorganization, processing and analysis on risks of earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic disasters, (3) international and national networks providing information and promoting cooperative research on geohazards, (4) international standards on data exchange and analytical methods, (5) resource and information sharing on geohazards, and (6) outreach programs. These topics are also major activities of the Global Earthquake and Volcanic Eruption Risk Management consortium (G-EVER; http://g-ever.org). |
