Session Description | This session will focus on the structures, compositions, dynamics and evolution of the earth's deep interior, from the upper mantle to the inner core. Areas of interests include, but not limited to, mineralogy, petrology, geochemistry, seismology and geodynamics, such as new discoveries and characterization of discontinuities and heterogeneities in the Earth’s interior. Multidisciplinary approaches in mineral physics, geochemistry, seismology and geodynamics will foster our understanding of the structure and processes of the Earth’s interior. This session intends to bring together experimental and theoretical approaches to the physics and chemistry of the Earth materials, geodynamic modeling and geophysical observation to improve our understanding of the current status and evolution of the planet Earth. This symposium is held in cooperation with TANDEM (The Asian Network in Deep Earth Mineralogy) established in 2008. |
