Session Title | Gravity and Geoid |
Main Convener | Dr. Yuichi Imanishi (Earthquake Research Institute, The University of Tokyo, Japan) |
Co-convener(s) | Dr. Wenke Sun (University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China) |
Session Description | Gravity originates from the universal gravitation, and reflects the structure and dynamics of the Earth, Moon and planets. Geoid, the concept derived from the theory of Earth's gravity, is of fundamental importance to the general understanding and developments of geodesy. In this session, we solicit papers on the following topics related to gravity and geoid, focusing on but not limited to: (1) theory of the potential/gravity field (2) absolute/relative gravity measurements/observations (3) satellite gravity missions such as GRACE (4) development of gravity sensors (5) interpretation of gravity changes (6) application of gravity in geophysics, geodesy, and geodynamics (7) studies of gravity and geoid in Asia/Oceania |
