Session Title | Tsunami Research in the 21st Century: Session Dedicated to Professor Koji Fujima |
Main Convener | Prof. James Goff (University of New South Wales, Australia) |
Co-convener(s) | Dr. Kazuhisa Goto (Tohoku University, Japan) |
Session Description | The 21st century has been a wake-up call for researchers involved in tsunami research. We have seen several large basin-wide events throughout Asia-Oceania and while these have had tragic consequences they have provided unprecedented research opportunities. As a result there has been a surge in both the numbers of tsunami researchers and publications. This session recognises that tsunami research is one of the most interdisciplinary of the geosciences. As such we welcome submissions addressing all aspects of tsunami research and given that the AOGS 2014 is being held in Japan we encourage Japanese scientists to present their work. |
