Section AS - Atmospheric Sciences
Session Title Advances in Atmospheric Remote Sensing and Radiation Modeling
Main Convener Dr. Wenbo Sun (Science Systems and Applications, Inc., United States)
Co-convener(s) Dr. Kazuaki Kawamoto (Nagasaki University, Japan)
Session Description This session will tackle emerging atmospheric remote sensing and radiation modeling issues. Observation and theoretical simulation are highly integrated components of atmospheric remote sensing. Active and passive remote-sensing techniques and theories for measuring atmospheric and other environmental variables have advanced rapidly in recent years. At the same time, radiation modeling including methods for light scattering and radiative transfer in the atmosphere, is critical for the comprehension of remotely sensed data. This session welcomes the science community to report their latest results and discuss future directions of polarimetric sensing, lidar detection, spectral measurement, and full-vector and high-spectral radiative transfer modeling for atmosphere.
