Session Description | Dynamical and empirical statistical downscaling are the methods to find a local scale response to global climate in detail. However, when we adapt these methods to Asia-Australian Monsoon regions, we should handle the climate of subarctic / temperate / subtropical to tropical zones in one time. Many physical processes may rely on another mechanisms from region to region. We would like to discuss on how to get detailed information in such areas with difficulty existing in down-scaling. Downscaling research of present climate, seasonal, decadal to climate change time scales are welcomed. Focal points are: Introduction of many research projects around Asia-Oceania region. (CORDEX-EA, CORDEX-SA, SEACLID/CORDEX-SEA, RMIP, TCCIP, SOUSEI etc. ) Studies on estimate and reduce uncertainties of both observed and simulated datasets. Issues of down-scaling research of various provinces. Both empirical statistical downscaling and dynamical downscaling research are welcomed. To discuss the usage of ensemble experiment Not only downscaling research, but also global high resolution model research to get local scale climate information are welcomed. |
