Session Description This session deals with the dynamic processes of water and associated material cycles in catchments and their coastal regions, activated or triggered by rainstorms, tsunamis and nuclear power plant accidents. Coastal or estuarine regions including their inland area are very susceptible or vulnerable to natural disasters by rainstorms or tsunamis and industrial water pollution, and thereby the environmental conditions and ecosystems could fall into deterioration or destruction. This session invites oral and poster presentations about coastal water-and-material-cycle processes from physical, chemical and biological viewpoints.
