Session Description | This session focuses on recent development in geomorphological studies utilizing advanced geospatial technology for data collection, management and analyses. The technology includes high-resolution terrestrial/airborne/satellite remote sensing such as laser scanning, and enhanced geographical information systems. Applications of the technology to Geomorphology have been increasing particularly in combination with digital elevation models (DEMs) because it facilitates quantitative terrain analyses. Geospatial technologies enable insights into geomorphic systems including change detection, assessment of energy and material fluxes and pattern recognition. We welcome presentations concerned with the application of geospatial technologies to geomoprhic systems such as new data sources, analytical tools, visualisation or theoretical considerations. |
