Session Description | The greenhouse gases concentration have reached all time high at increased growth rates in the recent years. The recent increase in growth rate is believed to be caused by enhanced emissions due to the expanding economic activity in Asia (mainly China, India). However, attribution of the carbon dioxide (CO2) sources and sinks are still very poorly known for most of the countries, sub-continental scale regions. In fact, it has also become more challenging to estimate CO2 emissions from energy consumption because of the recent tendency for the emerging economies to invest in green energy production. Asia is also significant emitter of methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O), which are mainly from the agricultural sectors. We invite contributions from all disciplines, measurement and modelling, relating to any components of the greenhouse gases sources and sinks. Both bottom-up and to-down modelling results will be of special interests for this session. |
