Session Description | New hydrologic observation and computing technologies such as super high resolution radar rainfall observation and parallel computing environment offer new opportunities for advanced hydrologic modeling and prediction. For example, various hydrologic modeling systems have been developed, which enable to construct a complex hydrologic and hydraulic system model with various components. Parallel computing environment realizes to enhance hydrologic/hydraulic prediction abilities with sophisticated spatially-distributed hydrologic models and new assimilation techniques. In this session, we focus on the following topics to share state-of-the-art hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and prediction technologies: (i)Development of computational hydrologic and hydraulic modeling framework, (ii)Integrated simulation models for hydrology, hydraulics and water resources, (iii)Applications of data assimilation techniques such as ensemble Kalman filtering and particle filtering to hydrology and hydraulics, (iv)Hydrologic and hydraulic model calibration with data assimilation techniques, (v)Hydrologic and hydraulic predictions with data assimilation techniques, and (vi)Various applications for modeling and predictions. This session will be organized as a joint session of IAHS, APHW and IHP. |
