Session Description | In recent years much attention has turned to the physics of the radiation belts and the inner magnetosphere. New space-borne assets as well as advances in theory and simulation have led to progress in our understanding of the physics of acceleration, loss, and transport of energetic particles in the inner magnetosphere. This session focuses on the broad range of topics of the inner magnetosphere including plasmapshere and plasmapuase properties, ring current evolution, wave properties, and energetic electron and ion populations. Presentations on theory, simulation, and data studies are encouraged. |
