Session Description | At this session, scientists from different countries of the world will present research results and exchange information on Southeast Asian climate and global climate change. The climate over Southeast Asia is characterized by many unique features and these features are undergoing changes in different forms. This session will be devoted to address these changes, which may or may not be related to global climate change. On the other hand, the climate over Southeast Asian does not only respond to global climate change passively. The climate signals over this region as a major heat and energy source of the global climate also drives the large-scale atmospheric circulation outside the region. Thus, this session will also be focused on the feedback of the regional climate upon global climate. The mechanisms for attribution of different feedback processes on climate signals and influence of the climate change in Southeast Asia on global climate will also be particularly addressed. The session will attract scientists from both academic and operational sectors, and scientists from different fields of climate study. |
