| Session Description | The mitigation of the carbon dioxide (CO2) emission has become one of the big issue in Asia and Oceania countries, whose anthropogenic CO2 emissions have increased rapidly in recent years. On this subject, the Carbon dioxide Capture and Storage (CCS) has a large potential to reduce the CO2 emission to the atmosphere. The CCS is characterized as an interdisciplinary R&D project between the basic science (geology, geophysics and geochemistry) and the reservoir engineering (site selection, facilities design and potential evaluation). This session focuses on the latest R&D results of both ongoing and planned CCS projects in the Asia and Oceania regions. The session will address also basic studies, such as field and laboratory experiments, theoretical analysis and computer simulation. |
