Session Title | Analyzing Dangerous Phenomena: Applications of Modeling and Nonlinear Methods |
Main Convener | Dr. Vena Pearl Bongolan (University of the Philippines Diliman, Philippines) |
Co-convener(s) | Prof. Toshihiro Osaragi (Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan) Dr. Kevin Cheung (Macquarie University, Australia) Prof. Bellie Sivakumar (University of New South Wales, Australia) Dr. Mu Mu (Chinese Academy of Sciences, China) |
Session Description | We invite colleagues from various disciplines who do modeling and simulation on and in response to dangerous natural phenomena like earthquakes, landslides, typhoons/cyclones, storm surge, flooding, drought, etc. We are also interested in natural or possibly human-caused disasters, like coal fires, oil spills, sink holes, aside from projected changes to the environment. We are specially interested in models of mitigation and response to these dangers. |
