Session Description The problem of understanding collisionless shocks has been in the forefront of experimental and theoretical research for many decades. Although much has been learned about collisionless shocks, the physics of heating processes still remains poorly understood. This session papers on the shocks including dissipation mechanisms by integrating the physics of shocks observed in space. We seek papers at the kinetic level for both observations and theories and models. This session is expected to contribute significantly to the shock physics as it will bring together bow shock, ICME-driven shocks, solar and astrophysical shocks communities together. They have many common features covering multiple plasma regimes on different spatial and temporal scales.
