| Session Description |
The productivity of natural vegetation and different crops is in turn strongly impacted by changes in climate and atmospheric chemistry, often as a result of anthropogenic activities. This session will gather experts from across the world to share and discuss research findings and developments related to the modeling of interactions between ecosystems, agriculture and the atmosphere on a variety of spatiotemporal scales. We will explore and identify optimal paths toward food sustainability and ecosystem health under long-term future global change. Topics may include but are not limited to: integration of statistical and mechanistic models across various scales; impacts of ecosystem and agricultural changes on air quality and climate; impacts of atmospheric changes on natural vegetation and agriculture; feedbacks within the atmosphere-biosphere system; and applications to determine balanced solutions to sustain future food security |
