Session Description | Groundwater resources serve as a vital source of regional water supply. Without proper management of the available groundwater resources can lead to serious environmental issues such as land subsidence or seawater intrusion. Before a sustainable management of groundwater resources can be established, it is required to have an accurate assessment of the groundwater system. This proposed session focuses on the assessment of groundwater resources with a focus on issues of near surface investigation and modeling. This session welcomes studies related to numerical modeling and field investigation. Traditional hydrogeological approaches, geophysical approaches, and geochemical approaches are welcome. We especially encourage interdisciplinary studies that apply state of the art of hydrogeological and/or modeling approaches. |
